This really bothers me.

Earlier today, I had an argument of sorts with my little brother.  He was annoyed because a black guy saw his backpack and called him out on the swastika he had drawn on it.  He was ranting about it, and I did not agree with him.  His argument was that blacks should have nothing against the swastika, but does he realize what that little symbol represents?  It represents hate.  It represents cruelity, and it represents racism; hell, it represents white supremacy.  He still thinks that he is right and I am wrong; that people should not be so offended by a symbol.

The whole thing really pisses me off.  I have made a few off-color jokes before, but I never think of other races as below me, or that white people are better than any other kind of people.  PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE.  There is a line between a little joke and a full blown way of life.  A swastika, to me, is a very bad symbol, something you should not proudly wear around--how can you not expect somebody to say something when you're wearing this symbol of something so horrible that happened in the past?  Would you really want to bring that kind of world back?  Why would you even think something linked to that was cool?

Am I over-reacting, to be so bothered by this?  Or do my feelings have any merit?

So, it's almost here.  Only a month away.  I've known about it for years, but this will be my first attempt at it!  I'm nervously waiting to see how it will go.  No amount of prepping will amount to the real thing, I'm sure.  I've decided I'll chronicle my NaNoWriMo experiences here instead of Myspace, that way this thing has a use.  If any of the WriMos be lookin' at this, be sure to add me.  I don't have any friends here.  I don't even know how to properly use this thing!  Any tips are great.  Anyway, I'm looking forward to NaNoWriMo, and hope to make many writer friends out of it.  Let's all share in this thing!

Kitten Mania!

So my little sister's kitty had her kittens!  They were born the 31rst of July and they are darling!  I got first pick and it's a little black and white of indeterminate gender.  It's only 8 days old today, and we read that it's difficult to tell until they are about 2 weeks of age and up.  I don't really give a crap about gender.  I'll love my baby either way!  I have named my kitten Susumu, after my favorite ninja ever.  I was going to name it simply Ninja, but that seemed a little uninspired, and with my past pets (Rastaban, Zozma, Rufio, etc) you know I love to spend time on interesting and different names for my pets.  I usually try to stay well away from Japanese names, but the nickname "Susu" was too good to pass up.  Thus, there is the name for my little baby.  I had also thought of using the name Chippy as a nod towards another favorite ninja (Chipp Zanuff of Guilty Gear) but decided against it, as it's kind of a cheesy lame name like Fluffy or something.

Susu won't be coming home until mid October, but until then, I visit frequently.  Another kitten, Booger, has also captured my heart...  This one doesn't meow loudly when I pick it up like Susu does, but I'd feel bad abandoning the one I already chose for Booger, and I cannot afford to take more than one kitten; as I already have Azrael (my brindle girlie who also has some ninja in her) and my four guinea pigs...  So...

Feeling at home

I'm still learning the ropes around here, but I love the Bully communities; ironically enough, the people there are really friendly.  This is why I love small fandoms!  The larger ones get so overclogged with mean, rude people that I just can't take it any more.  I still look back fondly on the days of Naruto, but I want to contribute more to the small world of Bully.  I'm feeling very creative about it at the moment!  I feel a little bad for my FE FF fans.  I should get back to those fics, too.  They're waiting on me.  It's not even that I lost it for those stories.  (LEGAULT AND HEATH FOREVER!)  It's just... I read so many great stories and then I feel intimidated about sending out my own for the slaughter.  I have no reason to think this.  It's not like I've ever been flamed...  I think that's the reason I stopped mid-way through my Peanut story.  I read a really great one, and I feel like I won't even compare!  I will still make my humble attempts, though.  Just to get the ideas off my chest.

Writer's Block: The Only True Question:

If you could go back and fix your most regrettable decision, what would it be, and what would you do differently?

Or:

Pirates or Ninjas?

NINJAS!  NINJAS!  NINJAS!  Not a hard one for me to answer, as I've been siding with ninjas for years.  Ninjas are bad ass because they can kill you from afar, you won't even see them coming.  They wear their awesome all black stealth outfits and attack swiftly.  Plus, have you seen G4's unemployed ninja or the Urban ninja?  They can be funny too!  Not to mention their bad ass agility; doing back flips--now that's something you'll never see a pirate doing!  In the age old battle, ninjas would definitely win and they already own in coolness.

By the by, the only cool pirate I can think of is DW's Gan Ning.

Roleplaying

First off, hello to anyone who is actually reading this.  I am off to a distinct disadvantage on this website, because I don't know anybody on here.  I have often visited this website, but never had thought of making a blog of my own.  I figured I'd never use it--and I may be right, but I decided it was about time I at least tried it out.  I'm a big old newb, though, and I may have lots of questions!  Anyone who would like to be a mentor to me is most welcome!

Now, as to the topic of this particular journal!  I love to roleplay, either as an OC or someone from one of my favorite games or animes.  I tend to like playing video game characters more than anime, though.  Can't tell you why, it's just a preference.  I seem to become more crazed with games than animes for some reason.  But lately, there are no quality roleplayers for me to play with.  And there seems to be some kind of stigma for girls playing boy characters...  I play male much better than female.  I'm sorry, it's just the way it works for me.  If you have a problem with me being the other gender, then you obviously don't roleplay much.  Getting into a new skin has nothing to do with gender.

Anyway, lately, I've been playing a lot of Bully and Persona 3.  I play Shinjiro Aragaki from Persona 3 and I have not yet attempted a Bully roleplay, but I would be most interested in playing either Peanut or Pete.  (I have a thing for the P characters, it seems, in Bully)  If you read this and are interested and are into the whole male slash thing, feel free to chat me up.  I'm open for just about any character, I love a good challenge!
